National Anti-Boredom Month

With long Summer days, we can have plenty of activities to do, but the task at hand may not be stimulating our minds and therefore, we can experience a feeling of boredom. It can be difficult to think of new activities that are both fun and stimulating, however a scavenger hunt is the perfect way to combat boredom!

Outdoor scavenger hunts are especially great if your child needs practice with skills such as following instructions, identifying colors, or 'tacting' (naming) objects in their environment. Adding instructions such as, "find something yellow" is a great example! Scavenger hunts are also a great opportunity for engaging in conversation with your child about what they see, hear, smell, and feel.
